Part Time Technical Writer

Job Description:

  • Develop high-level talking points for senior leader engagements
  • Draft, edit, and refine briefings, slides, and strategic messaging for internal and external audiences
  • Prepare Congressional testimony, policy questions, and formal responses related to mission priorities
  • Provide editorial support to strategic and operational planning documents
  • Produce recurring updates and summaries for senior leadership on team accomplishments and emerging issues
  • Support Congressional engagement efforts through talking points, messaging documents, visual products, legislative proposals, and annual posture-material revisions
  • Deliver rapid-turn, high-quality written products in response to senior leader requests
  • Coordinate stakeholder input to ensure accuracy and alignment across communication products
  • Contribute to strategic priorities, policy papers, and communication strategies
  • Assist with planning team communication needs, public affairs efforts, and information operations working groups
  • Maintain and apply subject-matter understanding related to counternarcotics, strategic competition, and other organizational focus areas
  • Ensure written materials adhere to organizational standards and reflect senior leader intent

Requirements:

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience preparing speeches, talking points, testimony, and other high-level written products for senior leaders
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex information from diverse sources
  • Proven skill in editing and coordinating input across large organizations
  • Experience supporting strategic communication, operational planning, or policy development
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Ability to produce quick-turn, accurate, and polished communication materials under pressure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and collaboration platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with strategic communication, interagency coordination, and senior leader support preferred
  • Background in national security, military operations, policy writing, or related domains preferred
